I managed to drag myself to the Schwimmbad again today - I thought I ought to go considering it had been 2 weeks since I last went, and I was intending to start going once a week to lose a bit of the bauch*.
MQ had challenged me to try and do 40 lengths in 40 minutes. Last time I only had 25 minutes but still managed to do 25 lengths. This time I was running a little slower (I kept getting distracted by the guy swimming in the lane - yes, they had a lane this time - next to me) and did 40 in about 41 minutes. Still not too bad, and I should definitely try to do it more often.
I know I'm going to be aching after that though. It doesn't help either that my neck is already a tad stiff from being in a car on the way to work yesterday morning that some fool just decided to drive straight into the back of.
* I hope people don't get too confused when I throw in random German words... please put your hand up if you want me to start putting the English versions in too :)

Yes, and last time you said there was no way you'd get anything near 40 in 40 without some practice. I am most put out.
In order to feel better I'll have to make a linguistic comment about your tags, and the old "Worte"/"Wörter" problem. Both mean "words" (and both have an "n" on the end in the dative) but one means the meaning of the words as a whole, i.e. what you are saying, regardless of what language you are saying it in, and the latter means the items of vocabulary, which is the one you want!
Sorry MQ :p
Ich verstehe das nicht, zu technical for my mind :) I did a couple of searches trying to work out how to spell 'words' in German, and didn't read up on any descriptions - instead I relied (rather foolishly) on Google's translation service.
